With this being the final show for a week and the fourth one in a row at the Fox Cabaret, it was BLUE RIVERA who got the night started. Offering up their beautiful melodic rock jams for this well-attended early show.
They created cocoon songs that envelop and comfort you with beautiful melodies that can get hard and rocking sometimes but never lose that comforting hold.
The guitars were gorgeous, with all the sexy sounds. The main element of this beautiful set got my feet moving and more than a bit of squiggling around.
Next was the third offering from the kick-ass fun trio TOO MUCH OF ANYTHING, who always put on a killer set full of high energy to get the feet moving.
They were tight as fuck, giving a big full sound that smashed their way through the set with the drummer extra hyped up and just punishing the kit. The result was a beautiful sonic explosion of joy that was so much fun to flail around to.
They were having a blast up there; it was such fantastic energy to connect with. Other than a couple chill dips, it was balls out good times.
The crowd warmed as they went on, ending in a fun smashing and banging pit full of flailing folks primed and ready for the final offering on the night.
Taking the stage for the closer on the night, the absolute firestorm that is their offering, the quartet REVEREND APE picked up that percolating energy and ran with it. God damn, do they ever fucking rock.
Hard and fast and oh so fun, their hard rocking jams are such a joy. Playing covers of both KYUSS and TOOL, it’s like they dipped into my brain to tickle my happy center.
They brought out a violin on one particular song. Despite being low in volume, they added that excellent sorrow tone to the song. Love a good violin with my hard rock.
A killer night of rocking jams left me wanting more, so I stayed at the Fox and bounced around to their hip-hop throwback offering till early morning.
Crawling back to my car to finally head home, He was pleased with my physical state and His consumption on the night.
